The Nacogdoches County Commissioner’s Court has passed an agenda item allowing Sheriff’s Office vehicles to display an “In God We Trust” decal, according to Sheriff Jason Bridges
Bridges stated the Court passed the item unanimously Tuesday morning.
“As many of you know, there have been several law enforcement agencies across our country that has had these decals placed on patrol units. Over the last several months I have asked several people in our community their thoughts on this. I have received all positive feedback, and feel that our community strongly supports this,” said Bridges. “I have waited until after the primary elections to address this, because I wanted people to know and understand that this was a genuine cause, and not something we were doing to generate media attention for political reasons.”
The sheriff also said he has the backing of Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office employees.
The decals will be donated by Armadillo Signs and Wright Automotive at no cost to the taxpayers. The stickers will be placed on the patrol units’ trunk lid starting next week.
