An East Texas man’s body was found Monday morning after he was swept along the Texas coast.
According to the Coast Guard, at 8:05 a.m., family members reported finding the body Stephen Espedal, 37, of Kennard, in the water by the shore near the point he went missing in San Luis Pass.
The Coast Guard had been searching through the night for Espedal, who had gone missing when he attempted to rescue a woman taken by a strong current Sunday evening.
The woman and two others swept away were rescued by a Good Samaritan in a boat.
A helicopter also assisted in the search.
