A Shreveport man who disguised himself as a woman during an East Texas robbery has been sentenced to prison.
According to the Gregg County District’s Attorney, 124th District Court Judge sentenced Gene Williams, 45, to 75 years in prison. He was charged with aggravated robbery after he used a gun to hold up the Rose Package Store #3 in Kilgore. Williams pleaded guilty to the charge before sentencing.
Authorities stated the convict fired his handgun during the 2012 robbery.
Following the heist, an employee reported to police a black man, dressed as a woman with a wig on, was responsible for the crime. Surveillance video corroborated the clerk’s statements about the robbery.
Williams is eligible for parole in 30 years.
