“Barn Cat Program”: Giving Feral Cats a Home

News

A local animal shelter has a new program to help give every animal a place to call home. It’s called the “Barn Cat Program” by Tonya Griffith’s Animal Rescue.

The program was created in response to the growing number of feral cat rescues. They are searching for applicants with a barn yard setting to help manage rodent control.

KETK news spoke to the owner of the rescue facility about why this program this is needed.

“I have always had feral cats and tamed cats. I’ve always tried to place both and it can be difficult to find homes for the feral ones.I have more people that have feral cats need somewhere to go than I have places around here,” said owner Tonya Griffith.

The adoption fee is only $15.
