Most 16-year-olds are focused on passing their driving test to get that long-coveted license and some freedom from home.

Haley Taylor Schlitz will be doing much, much more.

The sixteen-year-old will be enrolling in SMU Law School after she graduates from Texas Women’s University in May. She will hold a degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Schlitz graduated from high school at 13 after her parents pulled her from school because they were unhappy with how public school was teaching her.

She told the Dallas Morning News that being homeschooled helped her move at her own pace and only focus on things she did not know.

Schlitz was accepted into nine different law schools before settling on SMU. Haley was accepted to law schools at Howard University, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Texas Southern University, among others.
