I’m good

Neal Barton's Point of View

Since Donald Trump became president-elect, we continue to see protesting and in some case rioting in bigger cities in America.

A few folks have asked me, “doesn’t that make you mad?” My answer is “no, I’m great.”

I can’t prove this, but I think most of the protesters are bought and paid for. I remember the then-candidate Trump-protest in Chicago last summer.

Jeff Flock, from CNN, ran down some of the Trump protesters. He asked them what they were angry about.
They could not tell them.

I say let them march all they want, as long as they don’t hurt anyone and don’t destroy property– let them holler. Most of the protesting is going on on big cities run by Democrats, elected by Democrats.

Let them pay for the police overtime it takes to make sure things stay in line. The police get overtime and the cities get to pay for it. That’s a budget- strainer right there.

Let me add this: the way to get your way is to convince people in the marketplace of ideas you are right. You debate and convince them about your political argument. They go into the voting booth and agree with you.

There is a radio talk show host in Dallas that says cops can fly a drone right over the protesters and grab the ID numbers off all their cellphones. Then you know if they are organic or bussed in.

I’d like to know the answer to that.

But, if you voted for Trump, you get to watch the people you defeated and aggravated every night on TV. If you didn’t vote for Trump, you have to decide if protesting every night is really going to help your side.

As far as the newsroom here, we are done covering it. It’s old news.

That’s my point of view, what’s yours?
