Police fear housekeeper targeted many in Palestine area

Police are urging Palestine area residents who may have employed a specific housekeeper to check their bank accounts.

On Wednesday, detectives received information identifying a suspect in an ongoing credit card abuse investigation. The woman accused of fraud is Stacy Branch, 39, of Palestine.

Authorities arrested Branch at her home in the afternoon. During the investigation, it was learned Branch was employed by the victim as a housekeeper. Investigators were also able to determine was employed by many in the area.

Branch’s home was search and detectives found other identifying documents for multiple people.

She is currently being held in the Anderson County Jail with $20,000 bond.

The Palestine Police Department is asking any residents that may have employed Branch to check their credit reports and financial statements for any possible discrepancies.
