A woman is in the hospital after a Friday morning shooting in Elysian Fields.
According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of a shooting at the General Store in Elysian Fields at about 7:49 a.m. They arrived to find the woman suffering from what was believed to be a gunshot wound.
The woman had reported being followed about an hour before she was shot, authorities said.
A suspect, Cortney Manning, was taken into custody on Harrison County warrants, charged with charged with release of surety on possession of a controlled substance penalty group one measuring between four and 200 grams/ theft of a firearm/ unlawful possession of firearm by felon, authorities said.
Panola County deputies were able to make a traffic stop on Manning’s vehicle because of a citizen following said vehicle, according to the HCSO.
