Smith County deputies arrested a man after a chase on Loop 49 on Sunday, according to the PIO Larry Christian.

Deputies were called to a domestic disturbance call at the 17000 block of Ravenwood Dr. outside of Tyler.

The suspect then took a vehicle from the home without permission.

Troopers were pursuing him when his car wrecked and rolled over on the highway, near HWY 31 and Loop 49.

He attempted to flee on foot, but deputies were able to apprehend him.

The suspect is being treated for minor injuries at a local hospital

His identity has not been released.

Christian told KETK News that the suspect will likely face a charge of evading police. He could also face a charge for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Christian also said that a deputies vehicle received minor damage during the pursuit, but it remains unclear what caused it.

KETK News will update this story as it develops.

Editor’s Note: This story initially reported that the chase was on HWY 31. It has been corrected to show that it was on Loop 49 and ended after a wreck near HWY 31.
