CASE UPDATE: Longview man arrested for multiple murders stemming from 2016 shooting


A Longview man has been arrested for multiple murders that occurred back in 2016, according to Gregg County judicial records. 

Jordan Malik Carter, 21, was arrested on Monday and booked into the Gregg County Jail on charges of capital murder of multiple persons.

He is suspected of fatally shooting Melekia Montgomery, 25, and Alexis Johnson, 23, both of Longivew on August 26, 2016. 

It was the eighth homicide of 2016 in Longview.

Carter is a known gang member, part of the “Johnson Stret Click” and has previously been charged with over 41 crimes.

These arrests include:

  • driving without a license
  • multiple drug arrests
  • several assaults
  • fleeing from officers

His bond is currently set at $1 million.
