2 arrested on drug charges after Tyler robbery

Tyler Police have arrested two people on drug charges who were possibly involved in a robbery at a local business on Tuesday morning.

Police said at 2:30 p.m., authorities received report of two people who were at P.T. Cole Park on Vine Street who were possibly involved in the robbery of the Lavenderia Express.

When officers spoke with the men, they allegedly found marijuana, ecstasy and xanax on them.  Investigators seized 127 ecstasy pills, 56 xanax bars, and a large plastic bag of marijuana.

Investigators arrested Donovan Deshon Jackson, 22, of Tyler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone. 

Terrance Sims, 24, of Tyler, was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.

Both suspects were booked into the Smith County Jail. Jackson is being held on $18,000 bond. Sims’ bonds total $350,000.

No charges have been brought against them in the robbery case.
