Sun returns, but a chilly day ahead

TYLER, Texas (KETK) - We've had a very cold morning for us. Our morning lows will be in the 20s and 30s, but it feels like the lower 20s and teens! Clouds are decreasing and sunshine is prevailing.

At midday and into Friday afternoon, nearly full sunshine should be with East Texas with clouds clearing from northwest to southeast. We will keep chilly temperatures on Friday, with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Cold mornings continue for Saturday & Sunday. Many of us will be below freezing. The afternoons are nice and sunny. Now, Saturday will bring a cold front and increased wind speeds from the north (precipitation free). Sunday, we warm back into the lower 60s with a west/southwest wind.

Temperatures get warmer for next week. In the short term, prepare for the 4P’s of freezing temperatures. Pets, plants, pipes, and people—imperative to be sure all of these are protected from the below freezing temperatures.
