Thursday Midday Forecast: Widespread freeze for East Texas

EAST TEXAS STORM TEAM FORECAST: 12-07-17

TODAY: Mainly to mostly cloudy skies. Continued brisk and cold. Dry in most areas, but there still could be some light rain in the southern sections of Deep East Texas (near and to the south of line from Crockett to Wells and to San Augustine). Rain chance in this area at 30%. High temperatures 45-50 in the Tyler-Longview area and in the northern sections of East Texas, but only 40-45 in Deep East Texas. Winds North 10-15 mph.

TONIGHT: Clearing skies and very cold. A solid freeze overnight. Lows early Friday morning will range from 21-25 in rural, low areas to 26-31 in the downtown areas of the bigger cities and in parts of Deep East Texas where clouds may linger. Winds diminishing WNW 5 mph.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and continued cold....High near 50. Winds WNW 10-15 mph.

SATURDAY: Another early morning freeze in some areas. Lows near 30. Sunny and milder by afternoon. High 57. Winds NW 10-20 mph.

SUNDAY: A light freeze again early in the morning with lows near 30...then sunny and milder..High 62. Winds SW 10 mph.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy and mild...Low 39, High 65. Winds SW becoming NW 15 mph by late afternoon or evening with a cold front.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, breezy, and cooler...Low 39, High 55...Winds NW 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and becoming warmer again...Low 37, High 65...Winds Variable, becoming N 10-15 mph.
