An East Texas 6-Man football team is going to play for a state championship on Saturday.
The Tyler HEAT, a group made up of home-school students is one of eight teams that will take part in a college football style bowl series for independent programs in Gholson.
This event will be the first of its kind just outside of Waco. The HEAT, which have won five of their last six contests are the number-one ranked team. They face number-two Morton in the title game at 4:00pm.
The HEAT, which have been providing opportunities for home-school students to play high school sports since 2010, won a TIAFF Football State crown in 2014. They have been independent for the past two seasons.
