H.S. Baseball: Lee staves off JT, Alto & Douglass keep rolling

KETK - On the baseball diamond, the Rose City Rivalry has been dominated by Tyler Lee for many years.  Tuesday the John Tyler Lions gave the Red Raiders a battle.

Angel Zavaleta held Lee scoreless through four full innings until the Red Raiders were able to break through in the top of the fifth.  Zach Fernandez hit an RBI double off the wall in left that scored Trevor Doke giving REL a 1-0 lead.

The Red Raiders went on to win 4-1 despite a valiant efftort by JT.  Lee improves to 10-3 in district 11-6A and remains tied with Rockwall for second place in the league standings.

In district 22-2A, the Alto Yellow Jackets beat up on Groveton 12-3 as they're now 8-2 in league action.

District leader Douglass shut out Kennard 12-0 in a five inning run rule.  The Indians are 10-1 and atop the 22-2A standings.
