Another East Texas county has joined the fight to end opioid addiction in the area. Van Zandt County officials announced Thursday that they are filing a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical industry.
They hope to win monetary damages that officials want to put back into the county's budget to balance the resources they've used to crack down on opioid abuse.
Van Zandt County is being represented by a team of Dallas and Tyler based lawyers on the matter.
KETK and FOX 51 will continue to follow the case as Van Zandt joins Nacogdoches and other counties in efforts to end the opioid epidemic across East Texas.
