Tyler police identify victims in apartment shooting

TYLER, Texas (KETK) -  The Tyler Police Department has identified the victims in a Monday night shooting at a local apartment complex.

Police have determined the incident is related to drug activity and the victims were shot with semi-automatic handguns. 

The victims have been identified as:

1) Darryl Dewayne Washington Jr., 25, of Tyler (Deceased)

2) Terryaun Lamar Rodgers, 23, of Tyler. He was shot multiple times and is in stable condition.  He also has an outstanding aggravated robbery warrant for his arrest.

3) Nadarius Houston, 18, of Tyler. (Good condition)

Around 8:30 p.m., on Monday, police responded to the Chelsea Creek Apartments, located at 4920 Thistle Drive, in reference to several shots fired with victims who had been injured.

Upon arrival, officers determined three victims had been shot inside an apartment in building #14.

Washington Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rodgers had been shot multiple times and was taken to a local hospital, along with Houston, who had suffered a minor gunshot wound.  

Police are seeking the identity and whereabouts of the person(s) responsible for the crime.
