TYLER, Texas (KETK) - A Smith County man is behind bars after he allegedly stole another person's car Tuesday morning.
Jarode Detwin Wilson, 30, of Tyler, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
Wilson had asked an acquaintance for a ride at around 1 a.m. During the trip, Wilson pulled a gun out and threatened the victim, police said.
The victim pulled over in fear and hopped out of the car. Wilson took off in the vehicle, but was caught by Tyler Police at around 12:50 a.m. when officers located the stolen vehicle.
The suspect is being held in the Smith County Jail on $50,000 bond.
