Two men arrested after card skimmers found at Bullard gas station

BULLARD, Texas (KETK) - On Monday, February 12, a Smith County investigator located a cark simmer inside a Bullard gas station pump.

The investigator, who is a member of the North Texas financial Crimes Task Force called in another detective from Tyler Police and an agent from the U.S. Secret Service Task Force.

The skimmer was found at a Bullard gas station located on East Houston Street.

During the investigation, a Tyler PD Detective observed two people from prior investigations pull up to the station attempting to retrieve the skimmer from the pump. 

After realizing their skimmer had been discovered and removed, the men left and drove toward Tyler.

Officials pursued to vehicle and while on Loop 49, and they say started to throw out numerous items from their vehicle window in attempt to destroy or get rid of evidence related to gas skimming activity.

The suspect's vehicle was stopped near Loop 49 and Farm-to-Market Road 2493 by DPS.

The men were identified as Yoan Marquez Ramos, 28, of Haltom City, and Jorge Adrain Borroto, 23, of Mansfield, Texas.

Both were already under investigation by the Task Force. which had already established that this criminal organization had previously made 780 fraudulent transactions on at least 187 different credit cards in 29 cities and 3 different states.

They were charged with unlawful interception use or disclosure of wire, oral or electronic communications, tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and immigration detainers. 

Ramos and Borroto were booked into the Smith County Jail. 

They are each being held on bonds totaling $1.5 million with more charges pending.
