Remembering Trevor Morris: Friend, father, leader

BROWNSBORO, Texas (KETK) - On Thursday, a small East Texas community lost one of their own in a tragic plane crash in Tyler. He was Union Hill Baptist Church pastor Trevor Morris.

He was also a friend, a father and a leader of his flock.

The family gave KETK an exclusive look at the life of Trevor Morris.

Glenda Wallace, the secretary at Union Hills Baptist Church, described the heartbreak of learning about his death.

"It's like being in a nightmare. I can't believe this has happened," Wallace said. "We love him it's gonna be hard to replace him. He was our friend."

Trevor was also a husband to Nafisa and a father of five: Kaina, Cole, Lane, Boaz and Kyler.

"He loved his family more than anything here on this Earth. His favorite hobby was his family," a family friend said.

Ultimately, his friends and family say Trevor was a man of God.

"Everything about his life pointed toward Jesus," his friend Preston Burton recalled.

In the end, they say the tragic event is all part of a bigger plan.

"God called him home. He served his plan and now he would like us to continue on," Burton said. "There will be grief in the loss of him here physically, but we know that it was God's plan and that he's there with him in heaven,
