Popular wedding dress company files for bankruptcy, leaves soon-to-be brides scrambling for gowns

Tyler, Texas (KETK) - A popular wedding dress company has closed down stores across the United States after filing bankruptcy.

According to Fox News, Alfred Angelo's abrupt closing left brides to be in panic mode on Thursday after 83 years in the bridal gown industry.

The company has only addressed the bankruptcy on their website with the following statement:

"Alfred Angelo filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on July 14, 2017. As a result, all stores and wholesalers are closed. Margaret Smith was appointed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. If you which to be contact regarding your order status once information is available, please send an e-mail to: We will post additional information regarding the status on the website as it becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience and hardship resulting from this event. We appreciate your patience. Thank you."

After hearing the news of the bankruptcy, many soon-to-be brides rushed to Alfred Angelo stores only to be met with uncertainty about the status of their dresses.

The company was known for their signature bridal gown collections such as Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Dresses and Signature by Alfred Angelo.
