Police identify suspect in fatal shooting of East Baton Rouge Parish deputy

East Baton Rouge Parish, LA (KETK) - Louisiana State Police have identified a suspect who they say shot and killed East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputy Shawn T. Anderson on Saturday night.

According to police, the alleged gunman has been identified as Brandon Wiley, 30, of Baton Rouge.

Wiley, who is an employee of Classic Cuts Barber Shop where the shooting reportedly took place, is in critical condition at an area hospital.

According to the affidavit, Deputy Anderson was shot while investigating the alleged rape involving a 15-year-old girl.

The arrest affidavit states the victim asked Wiley for a ride around the Mall of Louisiana. Then, the pair stopped at another business, in which Wiley reportedly tattooed the victim multiple times without her parents' consent. Police say the victim then got out to go to the restroom. That's when Wiley allegedly grabbed her, used her belt to tie her hands behind her back and raped her.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office booked Wiley, remotely, on the charges of first degree rape, tattooing minors, and resisting an officer. State Police have not officially charged Wiley with the shooting as of Monday morning.
