ONE YEAR LATER: Ron Horaney's death remains mystery

Longview, Texas (KETK) - One year later, the murder of a prominent Longview businessman remains a mystery.
On May 30, 2016, Ronnie (Ron) Horaney, 54, was shot around 7:00 p.m., while answering the door at his house in the 4100 block of Tryon Road, just north of the Longview city limits. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The autopsy report revealed he died from gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.
Horaney was the owner of Horaney's Feed Store., a business founded by his grandfather in 1940.
Horaney was also the cousin of Longview Mayor Andy Mack.
"This should not have happened," Mayor Mack said at the time of Horaney's death. "Ronnie was one of the good guys. And he'll be very very missed in our community."
On Saturday, June 4, 2016, Horaney was laid to rest at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum. 
Just days after Horaney's murder, Gregg County officials released a sketch of a person in interest in the crime. They are also offering a $20,00 reward for information leading to an arrest or indictment in the case.
Currently, no arrests have been made and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office says they have no new leads or information at this time.
