DALLAS, Texas (KETK - The National Football League has officially adopted a policy in regards to standing for the National Anthem.
The policy states this season, all league and team personnel will stand and show respect for the flag and Star-Spangled Banner.
The NFL says personnel who choose not to stand for the National Anthem may stay in the locker room until after the song is performed.
"It was unfortunate that on-field protests a created a false perception among many that thousands of NFL players were unpatriotic," says NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "this is not and was never the case."
