TYLER, Texas (KETK) - Generation X rejoice! Your favorite pizza chain is making its way back to Tyler.
According to their website, Mr. Gatti's pizza is set to venture back to the Rose City and will be located at 4526 South Broadway Avenue, in the French Quarter Shopping Center.
Mr. Gatti's has a proud history of serving delicious pizza in innovative ways.
"Since 1969, we've strived to deliver unforgettable experiences for families in the neighborhoods where we live and work," their website says.
The chain's founder, James Eure, opened The Pizza Place in September 1964 in Stephenville, Texas. In 1969, he moved to Austin and opened Mr. Gatti's. as a tribute to his father-in-law. It wasn't long before Gatti's was popping up all over Texas and the Southeast.
During the 80s and 90s, some buffet stores featured state-of-the-art game rooms, beginning an evolution that eventually led to the creation of GattiTown, a 25,000-square-foot superstore devoting 10,000 square feet to a colossal Midway-type game room.
The eatery is set to open this summer.
