Gander Mountain in Tyler going through 'restructuring' process, liquidation

Tyler, Texas (KETK) - If you drive by Gander Mountain in Tyler, you may notice the large "Going Out of Business" banner out front.

However, they aren't officially going out of business...yet.

According to management, Gander Mountain was bought out by Camping World Holdings after Gander Mountain Company announced in March, "in order to maximize the opportunity to achieve a "going-concern" sale of its business, it and certain of its subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy"

The first step of the restructuring process is liquidation.

Initial reports stated the buyout would only allow 17 Gander Mountain stores to stay open. However, Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis says that's not true.

He is currently updating his social media pages stating which Gander Mountain stores will stay open after the restructuring process and says there will be a lot more than 17 staying in business.

KETK has reached out to Lemonis concerning the Tyler location and are waiting for a reply.

In March, Gander Mountain announced the Texarkana location would be closing prior to the restructuring process.

Other Texas stores closing were identified as:

Round Rock
San Antonio
Sugar Land

West Houston

KETK will update information as it's made available.
