TYLER, Texas - Friends and family members heartbroken and shocked.
Coming together Friday evening reliving those memories of Trevor Morris that they will miss the most.
Friend and regular Union Hill Baptist Church visitor Angela Wallace said, "He was such a great man for our church and for our community. He truly led us in the right way."
Lining up to pay their respects to the family of the man who made a difference.
The idea for the vigil came from several churches in the area. They came together and decided to host the vigil at Rock Hill Baptist Church.
Senior Pastor Robert Welch said, "We're brothers and sisters in Christ. We're all on the same team so we wanted to do something to show them we love them we care for them and not a better thing for us to do during this time than to pray."
And that's what they did. Many lining up at the alter, but with a sense of peace knowing. "This was not an accident, it was God's plan. He had this marked on Trevor's calendar long before Trevor was born so we just have to accept it," said Trevor's father Calvin Morris.
Trevor Morris meant a lot to his community. However, his family tell us that it meant even more to them to see that first hand.
Tiffani Shelby, Trevor's sister said, "It's overwhelming hearing those stories and learning what an impact he made on so many lives. The amount of outpouring of love that community has already been shown, it means a lot."
Funeral arrangements for Trevor Morris have not been finalized according to the family.
Buddy Johnson of Waxahachie will be leading this Sunday service at Union Hill Baptist Church.
