HENDERSON, Texas (KETK) - A former East Texas sheriff was laid to rest Wednesday morning.
Funeral services were held for Michael J. Strong at 10 a.m. at Strong Cemetery. He was a former Rusk County Sheriff.
Strong was sheriff doing the notorious 1983 KFC murders case.
The Henderson native also served as a special Texas ranger for the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raiser Association and gave back to his nation as a member of the US Army.
Former Sheriff Strong passed away on December 4 at his home. He was 74.
Strong lived his entire life in Rusk County.
