GROVETON, Texas (KETK) - Former Groveton coach Jeremy Carroll was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for indecency with a child.
Carroll was sentenced Thursday by Judge Kaycee Jones of the 411th District Court . Trinity County District Attorney Bennie Schiro prosecuted the case in court.
Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said in a Facebook post that Carroll "showed no remorse" after sentencing, but "cussed and joked about the judicial system, Trinity County and the people here, told me some very explicit and lewd things that I could do and laughed at the officers where were escorting him."
Sheriff Walker added that "after being asked why he should not get the maximum sentence," Carroll "claimed that he would miss his cat and dog."
