Customer cut by blade found on cart at Texas shopping center

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KETK) - Only a day after razor blades were discovered at a local park, Huntsville Police say a utility knife blade was found attached to a Target shopping cart.

The knife was found after a customer reported being cut by the blade at the Ravenwood Village shopping center.

Police said no other tampered carts had been found. The carts are now being monitored closely, police stated.

On Tuesday, a razor blade was found melted into playground equipment near the shopping center. It's unknown it the two incidents are related.

Other playgrounds in the area are also being checked.

No arrests have been made in either case.

"We are asking for the community's assistance. Citizens have been instrumental in catching these kinds of criminals in the past," said Chief Kevin Lunsford. "We are concerned about the safety of our residents."
