5 teens, 2 adults injured in major crash near Henderson

HENDERSON, Texas (KETK) - Seven people were hospitalized in a major two-vehicle crash over the weekend.

According to DPS, the wreck involved a vehicle carrying at least six teenagers. Five people from that vehicle were taken to area hospitals. One person was flown from the scene.

At around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, troopers were dispatched the crash on SL-571 in Rusk County, near Henderson.

A preliminary crash investigation shows the driver of a Jeep, a female juvenile, was headed south on SL-571 and collided with a Nissan SUV headed in the other direction driven by 30-year-old Floryan Mandoljano. The report sates the Jeep swerved into the opposite lane for unknown reasons.

Mandoljano was transported to a Henderson hospital, along with a passenger, 42-year-old Alfredo Guel.

The driver of the Jeep and a passenger were taken to a Tyler hospital. The passenger was flown from the scene.

Four other juveniles in the jeep were taken to a Henderson hospital.

The condition and identities of all the patients are unknown.
