CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Cherokee County authorities have arrested two people, one a juvenile, on theft charges.
On May 7, investigators were notified of the possible location of a stolen ATV. Investigator Joey Ray and Constable Jamie Beene (Pct. 4) went to the Bonner Wrecking Yard on Hwy 110 south of Troup. There they discovered two stolen ATVs and a stolen dirt bike, as well as a generator, power tools and a Yeti cooler.
One of the ATVs had been reported stolen from Smith County.
After an investigation, authorities obtained two felony theft warrants for Austin Hawkins, 26, of Troup. A juvenile also was charged with one count of felony theft.
Hawkins was arrested Tuesday and is in the Cherokee County Jail on two bonds of $20,000 each.
Further charges may be filed.
