1 flown to Houston hospital following East Texas bus crash

LIVINGSTON, Texas (KETK) - Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning accident involving a Livingston ISD bus.

According to Department of Public Safety officials, the two-vehicle crash occurred at around 6:20 a.m. on Highway 59 South, about one mile south of Livingston.

A preliminary crash investigation determined the bus had its flashing lights turned on and was slowing down to pick up a passenger, when a car hit the bus from behind.

No one on the bus was injured during the accident.

The driver of the car was flown to a Houston hospital. The injured person was identified as Rocio Rosencrants, 32, of Texas City. The victim's condition is unknown.

The bus driver was identified as Lana Smith, 46, of Trinity.

The crash remains under investigation.
